This summer has been kind of rough for me. I started having health problems in May and, of course, around that same time my husband’s schedule got really busy and he spent several weeks out of town. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but taking care of three small children when all you want to do is curl up on the couch and take a nap is hard. So this has turned into a stress eating, binge-watching, nap taking summer. And unfortunately, that hasn’t been fun for anyone.
My sweet husband, knowing how hard this has been for me, decided that he was going to send me out for a whole day all by myself. He turned it into a scavenger hunt and made everything a surprise. First he sent me to the Blue Plate Cafe for breakfast where I was instructed to relax and read. Then he sent me down to Big Spring Park to take pictures. I got to spend 3 hours exploring and experimenting and really testing my skills.
Then he sent me along to Bridge Street where I got to shop and hang out. After I left Bridge Street, he sent me to Pizza Hut where I picked up an order he had already called in and then met him and my children at Dublin Park to play for a few hours.
It was great. Taking pictures is my hobby and I was thrilled to get to spend so much time out doing what I love. Now I can only hope that the next few months are a little better and that I can get more time to do the things I love and spend quality time with my family, because I adore them like crazy.
